If your worried about rust just have it undercoated. As far as reliability, it will depend if its stock or hot rodded. Just general maintenance should be all you need to do. I have a 69 GTO I drive everyday and have never had a problem with it. I will say though, the car might seem to have a few more larger maintenance issues such as needing a front end, body bushings replaced, but thats just because whoever may have had it just didn't take care of it properly.

So if you find one thats been abused, it will probably need some stuff. If its been taken care of, you might not have to do anything for years.

It's a 28-37 year old car - how reliable do you need it to be? Of course it will be as reliable as anything else the same age, but it's age makes reliability a huge question.

Aside, to 'evolve' - if you think Pontiacs are not reliable, why are you posting here, and how do you explain why this car is on the road at all? Why don't you put your name into practice and actually think?

They are not pratical for everyday driving as they are performance cars and therefore gas guzzlers...pls those particular years are rare and priceless...you wouldn't want to ruin a collectable.
Rust is an issue for evry car due to salt on the roads.
