'A Christmas Story' director Bob Clark dies in LA car crash
By JEREMIAH MARQUEZ

LOS ANGELES
Bob Clark, whose film "A Christmas Story" became a seasonal fixture for its bittersweet cataloguing of holiday dreams and disappointments, was killed with his son in a car crash. He was 67.
Clark and Ariel Hanrath-Clark, 22, were traveling on the Pacific Coast Highway in the Pacific Palisades when they were killed Wednesday, said Lyne Leavy, Clark's personal assistant.
Their car was struck head-on by an SUV that a drunken driver steered into the wrong lane, police said.
The driver of the other vehicle, Hector Velazquez-Nava, 24, of Los Angeles was arrested and booked for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol and gross vehicular manslaughter. He was being held on $100,000 bail.

usually when a drunk person is in an accident, their body won't react to a crash the same a sober person will. the reaction time is slowed down, which allows for the body to be thrown around a little more, causing less injury. when a sober person is in a wreck, their body tenses up, leaving more chance for you to throw your arms out to brace, legs to slam the floor, etc.

On Long Island, NY, a drunken driving mother of two killed a priest a couple of months ago. When someone is drunk, they are more flexible and don't stiffen up behind the wheel. So they bounce around once the car crashes and don't get hurt that badly.

Life sucks sometimes doesn't it? My would-be godmother was killed by her boyfriend in a motorcycle accident. He was drunk.
No one can stop someone who is drunk behind the wheel. After its done, its done. You can't fix it, you can't bring them back. But you can spread the word. Those people who died, are in a better place. At least now they won't have to worry about those drunk drivers anymore.
The man who was drunk was put in jail. He got what he deserved no matter what anyone says. If he was smarter maybe those people wouldn't have died but like I said there's nothing about it we can do, except try and prevent future accidents.

I'm a little confused I thought that In California if you kill someone while driving under the influence its considered murder, at least that is what my attorney told me. The laws in California are really strict about this, and they keep changing to make it tougher on DUI's,.

The reason is usually because when a person is drunk they are all limber and relaxed and relaxing the muscles keeps
a person limber and a limber body is less likely to break....
But it is horrible when some one gets drunk and drives a
vehicle, that is just like shooting a gun at random people!

That is a tuff question. Some how I think God is trying to punish the person who was driving drunk. As for the victims It might have been there time to go. At least now they are with our Lord.

cuz they are relaxed from being drunk and just allow the forces from the crash to throw them around rather than trying to resist and losing.
