There are plenty of great reasons to continue the Space Program, but the most important is probably the fact that our very existence relies on it.
The Earth will not always be a viable place for humans to live. Even if we take great care of it (which we are not), the sun is going to destroy it towards the end of it's lifecycle.
Our future is in Space, and that is why we must learn as much as we can about it and inhabiting other worlds. That is the only way the Human race can continue to survive when the Earth cannot survive.

The very same reason why the Europeans set sail across the Atlantic. For riches and exploration and the hope of having their name be known.
The space program has helped us in many ways even down here on earth. Many inventions have been created that were to be used in space and are now used on earth such as many different polymers of plastic. (I really am not sure how many other things we use originated from needs of the space program)
Also space is the final frontier for humanity. We could expand our species beyond Earth and to other worlds which now are various light-years away. We stand a chance of discovering new technologies and resources along the way. This is why we should allow the space program to continue.

Because it's "out there." Just the same reason why some people climb the highest mountains. What's the practical reason for that? None, but the mountains are there and we want to see if we can do it.

Because the more planets humans live on the better the chance they don't kill themselves.
And that must be a good thing.

Because mankind has always explored new places, mostly searching for 'treasure' of some kind, but also for scientific 'truth'.

Why not? If we spend needlessly into the military then we can spend less needlessly into space exploration.
