I am doing research on internet predators for my sociology class in college. Would appreciate any feedback I can get. Thanks. And PLEASE, tell how many times or what they said to you, I need actual descriptive answers, not just yes and no.

Yes, I had guy IM me when I was 16. He lived twenty minutes away from me and wanted to take me out into the woods to have fun. He was in his 30s he said, I can't remember his specific age. I told him no but he persisted, insisting that would not do anything to hurt me and that my safety would be top priority.
When I was seventeen, a guy in his early forties started IMing me. He was a local cop with a son who was a few years younger than me. When my brother was involved in a car accident he rememberd the car. He then messaged me once saying that he saw in my brother's car and thought that I was hot. For months in persisted with IMs saying we was lonely and horny and that he wanted to meet me. I declined repeatedly. To this day he still leaves me an occasional message. I'm 22 now.

What's your operating definition of "sexual predator?" Do you mean anyone who sends inappropriate material to account holders that they don't personally know, or do you mean only people who contact by blog or IM? Yes, I've received porn email ads. No, I've not chatted with anyone who I would consider a predator, but I don't blog, do myspace or go to many chatrooms.

I suggest you watch NBC; they have a program on catching sexual predators; just couldn't remember if it was Dateline or something else. Also go on chat rooms and right away you will meet one. In this way you will have first-hand information for your research paper.
