can I separate 2 guinea pigs after they are in the same cage and dont like each other?

Yes. You can do supervised ''visitation'' between the guinea pigs, and if you see that they are beginning to tolerate & accept each other, you can re-try housing them together.

Please make sure they are both of the same gender, or the male is neutered to prevent complications!

It depends.

If they are fighting a bit, but not drawing blood, it could just be problems sorting out the hierarchy, in which case you may as well keep them together. They know how to work out their differences, but it takes some time.

If they are drawing blood, then don't use separate cages. Instead, put a barrier that they can see through through the cage. That way, they have company, and you may even see them huddling together along the wall (they're social animals, so they do want companionship), but they won't be able to hurt one another.

Well is it males? Most males need to be introduced from an early age because in the wild it's usually one male with ALOT of females so when you have two males in the same crate they may or may not get along. Are you sure they arent just trying to be dominate? My two males who share a crate do that alot they raise their heads up, mount each other but they don't fight like where they bleed.

yes if they dont like each other and may fight then remove them from each other and get 2 separate cages

if you leave them together and you now they dont like each other they could end up fighting or 1 pig could terrorise the other which could lead to your pig getting stressed

animals dont remember much. if you take them away they may be sad a little at first and then forget. then put them together and they may disagree for a while. and sometimes they always remember. i think you'll be ok if you separate them and put them back together.
