You have to scroll all the way down to the nearly to bottom on this and on the far left there's a triangle or symbol next to "Listen to a mountain lion!" you click on and you can hear it!! How awesome is that?!!

It is a loud deep scream, like a woman with a deep voice. It starts loud and ebbs off to a purr. errOOOwrrr. Lived on a 6,000 foot mountain by myself for a year, heard them and saw them many times.

It sounds like a two-syllabel, scratchy, high-pitch roar, kind of like: "wow-ROW!"

There are websites where you can listen to recordings of different birds and mammals--check them out!
