Do most of your fondest memories?

come from the large events that occurred in ur life, or do most of them come from those small, simple moments?

What might be an event for me, may be really a simple moment.
All I know is, if they are my fondest memories then definitely their source was a big event in my life(even if coming from small, simple moments) so much that I still keep them alive in my thoughts and cherish them.

Memory is a mysterious collection on the surface.
Often the oldest memories are simple events, with no excessive joy or suffering involved. Theoretically the reason is that all parts of our brain or most of them are involved in the recording of the event, in other words one is totally there in the moment, the instinctive part, the moving part, the emotional part, and the intellectual part, maybe even the sexual part. The person's state can have as much to do with it as the content. Often when one is experiencing a good or great experience, we very soon go and tell someone about it. If the person happened to ask for intellectual details or maybe measurements (like, ' How long was that field goal you kicked to win the championship?' and you had to think back to answer, and all sorts of details get worked into your experience as you rehash the memory of the event, then the fondest memories get remembered for a much longer time. There are all sorts of scientific terms that sound very impressive but it all comes down to that. In that case fondest memories would be significant ones, otherwise not. So there is no real answer to your question as it depends on how the person is hardwired as well as the complexability of the event.
The hardwired part depends on DNA and don't actually take this as the best explanation (DNA) because imo there is a factor which can change DNA after birth and that has not been fully discovered yet. Won't be long though!

Small simple moments, like being on the mountain with friends, having a picnic, dancing with friends, playing spy in the school, &c.

I might have said large events, but my prom date turned out to be the most annoying person on the face of the earth.

My answer: most came from small simple moments, but these are moments with great significance...

Like that moment in time, when my first boyfriend held my hand, witnessing my baby taking her first steps, or even realising that I have won $20 bucks from our local lotto! Because all these moments are all pleasant and unexpected...

Large events are planned, ... like my wedding. We took a year to plan it, knowing that the glamour is only a night. It is not as interesting as those simple moments...

After all, life is not measured by how many breath you take, ... but the moments that take your breath away...

i remember most large events, but not as intimately as the small simple moments. of course i vaguely remember birthdays, graduation, ect. but there are some smaller moments that i can remember exactly how i felt, what i and the other people around were wearing, certain smells and sounds. and these are the moments that are most important to me now.
