I want my 3G phone to access my computer. However I type the IP address of my computer which has IIS running but the same computer also connects to the Internet through a Wireless Router. I am not using the Local IP (192.168.0.1) I am using the ADSL IP number provided by my ISP. But it doesn't respond.

You need to set up port forwarding on your router to forward port 80 to the local IP of your computer.

If you are trying to access the server from a public network you will need a routable address not a 192.168...... When you have the routable IP use NAT or port forwarding to route the external IP to the correct internal IP using the correct protocol UDP/TCP and define the port used.

Also, if port 80 is blocked by your ISP simply try 8080

Make sure your wireless router is routing that request to the correct internal IP address. That's usually in the advanced setup of your router.

Check firewalls too to make sure it's not blocking the request.

Make sure port 80 is open and routed. And Devildog's latter point is worth noting. Many ISPs block common ports because they don't want you running servers on a domestic circuit.

Make sure you don't have a firewall blocking the port on the machine running IIS.

Most ISPs block requests coming in to "standard" ports, you might have to configure IIS to listen on a non-standard port (if that doesn't violate your agreement with your ISP)

Buy a HUB instead of a ROUTER.... they are cheaper. The hub will network your desktop and lappy (within range) but of course you will still need the wireless adapter.
