it could be the start of blight, or it could be not enough nutrients in the soil, or not enough sunlight. have you used any pesticides that would keep the disease off the roses? there are powders you can get that helps ward off this potential plant killer... and give your garden some rose food at least 1 time a month followed by a good watering.

Light Green Roses

Your answers above are partially right. First, I check water. That's usually the #1 cause--that is too much water. If you have good drainage and the amount of water has not changed then the next thing I would look at is not Blight, but black spot disease. With this disease the leaves turn light green then yellow and black spots appear when they finally get yellow. These affected leaves will die and the only thing you can do is use a fungicide for roses to keep it from spreading further. If it doesn't seem to be either of the above I would look at a nutrient (N and/or Fe) deficiency next. A lack of nitrogen or iron can cause leaves to turn light green. If you conclude it's a deficiency I would use a liquid fert. like Miracle-Grow mixed at 1/2 strength until the plants regain their health--then you can go to full strength. If none of the above does it then probably it's a lack of light--only you would know that.

feed them and let the soil dry out a little. Roses don't like to get their feet wet, I have been told.
