i'm not an american but i have to answer this:
everyone needs someone to hate! and its typical of people to hate the richest and most influential one!
you are generalizing ~ and if an american dared to generalize here and says all ragheads should be shot, or all blacks should be hung - or all chinamen are idiots or all aussie babes are hot you'd be b-itching about that! [ well maybe you wouldn't b-itch about the aussie babes-lol]
but you are just never happy about anything!
so, now that you have stirred the pot here, why don't you crawl back in your hole and leave us alone?
having spent time in the u.s.a. i can say we met americans who were very nice, some not so nice, some downright rude, and some arrogant jerks! much like any other people in the world. we met the same types of citizens in the u.k., in france, italy, germany, portugal, holland, etc. people are what they are~american or otherwise.
we met a lot of american tourists who pretended to be canadians! they generally had a small canadian flag stitched to their jackets, or knapsacks, and some had that silly 'tim horton' mug swinging from their knapsacks! they all said the same thing ~ they felt a little safer and people tended to be nicer to them if they thought they were canadians.
it is very sad that the american government's politics make them a target in other parts of the world!
so to the yanks i say 'good on ya' - your country does a lot of good in the world!

How exciting a life you live, traveling everywhere surveying people about their feelings for our great country.
Interesting that I, as the secretary of a diplomat DO travel the world. I go from the MIDDLE EAST to the Mediterranean countries, to Africa, Asia and Austria several times a year. I mingle with people ALL OVER THIS PLANET and they NOT ONLY DO N.O.T. hate America, they admire and worship our example. They want to be like us. They watch us. They swim across rivers and oceans, run across deserts and risk their lives TO LIVE IN THIS GREAT LAND OF FREEDOM. Because we are WHAT YOUR COUNTRY IS LACKING. And you are the sad, pathetic product of that.
I'm sorry you can't be us.

I've been to other countries and you're right there are a lot of people that hate us but my experience tells me that most people love us just as much as they love their neighbors. Unfortunately a lot of other countries governments like to make us look bad and try to make themselves look good. Same things happen here in the u.s. The trick is to not let our emotions cloud our judgment. The few judge the general population because of the actions of a few. It's called not wanting to get facts straight.

Well then they are as bad as some of the idiots in our government...stereotyping people is a dangerous business...and even though we claim this to be a democracy most certainly are not in support of the BS that is going on here.

Actually, the "rest of the world" as you put it, has disliked America ever since we became the only super power, and some, a lot longer than that. We are what everyone else wishes they could be. Everyone hates the top dog. It's called envy and it's a deadly sin.

they dont hate the americans.. they just dont agree with the way the american government works and dislike their decisions.......... its jus the govt. not the ppl that are hated!! and using a word such as hate is not right... how bout the ppl of some worlds dislike and oppose the decisions the american govt. takes when it comes to the world !

Most people I meet love and admire Americans...hatred is usually a symptom of some sort of jealousy.
