Even if I put a fence around it the dog will not leave it alone. If it were up to me I would get rid of the dog, but it is my daughters and she would get upset.

Spread chili pepper in the dirt. It won't hurt the dog but (s)he should get the message.

Unfortunately, thats a tough one, seems dogs just can't stay away from the flower bed. I guess you could try spraying the dog with water and saying no. I mean don't soak him or hurt him just a little spritz to let him know what he is doing is not allowed.

Put pepper in the dirt. My dog digs holes next to the fence to play with the dogs next door. If you put GROUND pepper in the dirt it gets in their nose. They learn their lesson pretty quick

Put dog droppings on the surface. They will totally stay away! It really worked with my dogs to stop digging.

Ask your local (plant) nursery or pet shop about pet repelling plants. It's smell will keep your pooch away. Goodluck! ;)
