Simplify the original equation from y -3 = 2(x +5) into the more acceptable form which is:

Y = mx + c where m = the slope of the line and c is the point where the line intercepts the y axis. Its a straight line graph.

e.g. y = 2x + 10, m = 2 and it cuts the y line at + 10
In your example (A) x = 3 so y = 2(3) + 10 = 16

Each of the pair in the answers corresponds to X and Y figure. Plug each one into the formula, solve it, and find the one that right side equals left side. THAT is your correct answer.

For example, A. (3, -3)
y - 3 = 2(x + 5)
-3 -3 = 2(3 + 5)
-6 = 2(8)
-6 = 16 (this is not valid)

For this reason, A is not the answer.

Do this for each of your pair.

It's B
first isolate y
y = 2(x+5) + 3
y = 2x + 10 + 3
y = 2x + 13

only B works because if x = 4
y = 2(4) + 13
y = 8+13
y = 21
x=4, y=21 <-------B!
