No, oil is the decomposed remains of prehistoric sea creatures. Magma is in the core of the earth and when the earth has a crack in its crust, magma flows out as lava - just like blood from a wound.

It is neither oil or water. Both are chemicals that have formed from the accretion of the earth and have upwelled to the surface or near surface. Oil is the blood of industry and civilization. The earth is not alive. The pagan religions seems to have made a recent resurgence for those who weem worship a living earth. Being a geologist, the idea is not credible to me. First we will not drain every last bit of oil and second if we did, it would have negligible effects on the other earth processes.

we are with the help of no skill travelers of this planet. we are an infestation. And no, oil isn't the blood of the Earth. existence is the blood of the Earth. hardly moist at the back of the ears. I even have spent many a twelve months on the planet. And persist with my answer that "existence" is the blood of this staggering planet that we pick to call "Earth."

They create the magnetic poles of the earth....
Oil is more like the fecal matter of the earth...whats left over after things die...

We're not going to run out of oil for a very long time. People were predicting the end of oil as far back as the year 1915.

I would think magma is the earth's blood. Without magma that means the earth's core has gone cold and that definitely spells bad news for life on earth.

If any liquid is Earth's blood, I think it is water.
If oil were all used up, life on Earth would go on.
