I never understand how some people can pay for sex. Not in a moral way. But, Isnt it embarassing? Im in asia at the moment where you tend to find a lot of "snack bars" ..no prizes for guessing what the workers snack on. It's not hidden and some men dont find it that embarassing to admit theyve gone. But im sure if i ever went id die of embarassment knowing that whoever was "servicing" me just wanted me to hurry up and finish. So, why DO some people pay?

I visited brothels a lot in my twenties. I was a recluse, had difficulty socialising and was emotionally immature for relationships. Yet I had a need for a comforting touch and in those early days was afraid that I would become a sexual predator if I didn't experience sex. Once I had sex, it transpired that I have a pretty low sex drive and didn't have much need for it. I haven't been to a brothel for some time now: stds do concern me, brothels are an addictive behaviour and don't do much long term to the self esteem - all this is true. However, I do not agree with your condemnation of the service that brothels provide: I think a lot of men are, like I was, without someone they can talk to about sex and what you must understand is that a prostitute often doubles as a kind of counsellor. So long as the hookers are there of their own accord (many I have spoken to simply prefer it to the drudgery of shop work etc) then I think there is a place in our society for brothels. (Thank You So Much SpadezGurl22 but I'm not any of those things you've just called me, nor have I ever been.)

As the first two people who answered you noted, sometimes it's because the man has difficulty in finding willing female companions who aren't paid. But that is NOT in any way the only or even the biggest reason. The MAIN reasons men pay for sex are....

1. They like 'new'. Men are by nature promiscuous. They crave the adventure and unknown of a 'new' woman.

2. Paid sex is simple. It's not cluttered with demands, expectations, emotions etc. Nothing is demanded of them except for some cash. They don't have to share, or snuggle, or be intimate. They get to have what they want and not worry about anything else.

This DOESN'T mean that those same men do not want or treasure real relationships with real women. It doesnt mean they dont LIKE to snuggle or share or be intimate etc, it just means that sometimes they don't want to HAVE to be concerned with anyone elses expectations but their own.

Cos they are fulfilling an urge, not an emotional need. They may have a bit of a struggle when it comes to intimacy and being vulnerable. The anonymity and absence of emotions makes it easier of them to get what they feel they need. Some also can not get what they would like from whomever they are with, so they feel that have to go elsewhere to fulfill that fantasy or urge (I can't call it a need, cos I don't think that every fantasy one has is necessary to sustain one's sanity), and if they can buy someone's time for that instant gratification, they will. And, since this is under they psychology category, I feel comfortable mentioning that there more than likely are several disturbances and sexual deviations that that individual is afflicted with, and they don't see any other way as a means to deal with what conflicts they have internally. If there is a demand, there is always someone willing to supply. Money talks. Health, neither physical or emotional, is not a factor with individuals who participate. One wants this, the other wants the money and will do whatever to get it for whatever reason.

Charlie Sheen and his pals went to Heidi's place and gladly paid because it was just plain honest sex...no woman trying to weasel into his life.
The more $'s you pay the better quality the product. A pick up from a street curb with the deed done in the front seat of your car has always left me wondering how that could possibly fill a mans need...but it's done every day.
The oldest profession in the world??? Prostitution!

Paying for sex is explointing the women or men who do this for a living in other words punters are raping and abusing. They were abused once as children and this is the vunerbility of them now, they know nothing else.
Its a sad piece of life that its even known now prostitution because its children who are involved, sex dens, victims kept as sex slaves victorian times had these are back in this time, I hope not.
I say stamp it all out not in a months time or years but NIOW

Maybe because it seems a lot easier then just getting a girl/boyfriend, and they dont have to actually try and have sex with them, they just give the money, and anything goes. Its for guys who dont want the hassle of trying. Some guys look at it as if they have a girlfriend, or wife they are paying her(since they take her out, or support her by paying the bills), and they dont always get sexual things at home(not as much as they would like to anyway), but if they take thier money to a place like that its a definet thing that your going to get what you want.

Because that where they could have it the fastest way, without responsibility. Others do it because it is the only way they could have sex with women or men without having to do the intros of having a relationship. I have the money you are available, irregardless you find me attractive or not, lets have it and after, bye!
THese activities suits fine to others. I personally dont also. Imagine the possibilities of sharing someone with so many men you dont even know what they have in them, and getting it from them and passing it to your partner.
Its plain and simply pleasure without responsibility and conscience.

ok, I don't think it's the fact that they cannot get it in any other way, because good-looking, rich and all sorts still pay for sex. maybe it's an addiction, or maybe it's illegal (like sex with minors), or maybe to indulge their more perverted fantasies... or they just want sex with a faceless body who will not ask for any kind of emotional involvement.... it's a very difficult question to answer

It can be an addiction for some, just like not being able to function without a cup of coffee or a cigarette. Those people need help
