I think you may be right on the best chance from the East given the Cavs are hot and cold. But not sure any team from the east can be the Suns or the Mavericks from the West.

Yes. They definitely have a chance of winning the NBA championship considering they have clinched a playoff birth after all. The question is what chances do they have in winning one. The answer to that question is below 50%. Cleveland and Chicago will give the Pistons a run for their money and I actually picked Chicago to come out of the Eastern Conference. Regardless of who wins the Eastern Conference, the NBA championship belongs to the team that wins the Western Conference, which I believe are the Phoenix Suns.

Most Definately, size, depth, and a great team defense. Tayshaun "straight outta compton" Prince can take over a game at will, plus Rip and Chauncey are still the most solid backcourt in the Eastern Conference, maybe the league. Getting a hungry C-Webb only solidifies there depth . If the Pistons are lucky the Heat will end up facing the Bulls in a series, a team the Heat seem to have problems with.

Easily the best chance in the Eastern Conference. The addition of Chris Webber is really working out for them. Every day they get better with Webber. He is filling the gap that Ben Wallace left. The Western conference is filled with teams that just like to outscore their opponents. Even though Ben Wallace left, I still think that the Pistons have one of the best defenses in basketball and "Defense wins Championships."

The Pistons are the terrific team interior the East and could maximum in all probability pass to the finals. I do basically no longer see them triumphing the whole factor. The Mavs, Suns, or Rockets can all beat the Pistons. (Spurs are gonna be knocked out with the help of Denver interior the 1st around). Webber makes Detroit's offense extra useful however the Detroit D isn't as frightening because it became whilst that they had massive Ben.

billups is a great pg
rip can score 20 a night
prince plays great d and rebounds
sheed and webb can both rebound score and play d.
best team in the east.
i think they might be able to beat dallas, but phx im not sure about. i thin the pistons have a hard time against run n gun teams since GS clobbered them twice this year.

No...... Simply because Dallas is the perfect team this season. And Phoenix is not far behind. Basketball is a 5 player team game. Pistons is not the same without Big Ben.

They are not clear-cut above the rest of the East. Sure, maybe they are they favorites in the East. But the probabilities are against them reaching the Finals. If Wade comes back, I think it's over for the rest of the East, including the Pistons.

Yes they could, but this is the Mavericks year they have come back with a vengeance and everybody knows it. Everybody will be shocked if Dallas doesn't win. As much as I love Detroit, they are gettin older tho they are a team built for the playoffs.
