I dunno, why can't they? My only question is, would you want to play with men or have your own league? Because there are huge problems with both if you think about how many women would be willing to take those huge hits from male athlete and how much support could they get to run their own league. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see that happen and I'd probably watch every so often, but people don't even watch the WNBA so much now, I wouldn't be much different.
I'm actually taking a Sport and Society class right now in college, the future for women in sports is improving, but the machine that is the male dominated sports world is not likely to change to accomodate women in the same way. So a WNFL is probably a long way away still...

I guess the titty cup hasn't been invented yet and with steriods being banned in the NFL and HGH also being a huge scandal in MLB there is just no way most females could have enough muscle to play in the NFL. If you watch track and field you will see that men's times are always faster then womens and they don't compete against each other. Yes, they can have a league of their own, but except in the extreme rare cases women cannot play a skill position in the NFL or even college level. Also, how many fathers want their daughters getting beaten and bruised played football??

I am all for womens lib, but we cannot match up against the men in the NFL, as for as playing football. I play in a powder puff league, so women can play football. I just dont think men & women belong on the same field, unless she is kicking and even then that could be too painful. We have power, and we have strength, and some women can knock a man out, but the NFL is far too much for both genders at the same time on the same field!!!

Women can be football players in the same league as men. The only problem would be that the woman would be considered as an outcast and a threat to the men. So the men would play as if they were all Jack Tatum and the women were Darryl Stingley.

At younger ages, girls can and sometimes do play football; however, males and females mature differently. Football, like most male-dominated sports, was created and has evolved with the male physiology in mind.
While women are generally more agile and flexible than men, men tend to be stronger with more explosive musculature than women. Both of those male physical attributes translate into advantages in football. While agility and flexibility are pluses on the football field, they pale in comparion to strength and explosion.

Fact is that women play in not only in football but all sports.
Manon Rheaume played in several games for the Tampa Bay Lightning in pre-season before going to the minors.
Stephanie Weimer was her high school place kicker and tried out for Penn State.
But to answer your question for the most part to keep the team even. I agree that several 'skill sports' like pool should be equal.

Because males are just more physically dominant. If it were an all girls league, I still don't think so. Football is hardhitting, just thinking about girls playing the game makes me laugh. They would not last.

They can but they are not usually as good as the men when they get older and players and coaches can discriminate and harm them just because they are girls. This one girl who played kicker in college was raped by her teammates. There are a few girls teams but not many.
