Padded rooms are seriously over-rated. The majority of mental institutions does not even have padded rooms. It's just not effective.
To be in that situation you would have to be in a completely fcked up mind state, trying to cause harm to anyone and everyone around you and also to yourself.
This would call for a sedation, and isolation. Not a strait jacket and a padded room.

If you're gonna hurt yourself or someone else. I don't know if the mental hospitals do padded rooms anymore, but I do know they use drugs to control many violent patients. Now, if it's you, or someone you know, that is in need of a padded room, I would call a counsellor and get help right away. <*)))><

If I had to spend a week with my ex-husband's constant yapping I possibly would need that padded room or I might hurt my knuckles trying to hurt the walls! LoL!

They use padded rooms when a patient is at risk of harming himself it allows a safe environment for him to be held within while people access his situation.
