All that happens on Dec 21, 2012 is that the Mayan calendar comes to the end of its "long count". This is the same thing that happens on December 31 for us - our calendar comes to an end. Nothing to worry about. As a matter of fact, this is the end of the 13th long count. All that will happen is that the Mayan calendar will roll over to start the 14th long count.

the sumerians also envisioned this date because the day the planet nibiru passes earth and the polar axis reverses, they're declaring this happens each and every 3600 years and is the reason of the excellent flood it really is because of take position in 2012, jointly the mayan calender ends, a similar time the age of aquarius starts, a similar time the 4th length ends and the fifth starts, ive study a lot in this and locate the reasearch on the sumerians the most theory scary as they knew more advantageous about the photo voltaic device and its planets than we do! convinced i have self assurance atlantis is authentic yet were given wiped out in the excellent flood and is now lower than water someplace and convinced i'm more advantageous than waiting for the international to regulate because it is going to likely be for the more advantageous perfect!

Just about every culture has an end of the world scenario. Some people just want the end of the world to happen so badly the go looking at all the dates that predict them, they roll by, nothing happens. If they dont like the world fine, just dont end it for the rest of us. Anyways a planet is really really hard to destroy.

On that day their new era was to begin and the old era calendar ended.. I suspect they were wrong because they never saw their own extinction and they won't be here for their new era. I have a calendar from Barnes & Noble that runs out in Feb of 2008. Does that mean the world will end then ?

They have been right in most of their prophecies, but I would not hold them to this one. No "end of the world" prediction has ever actually come true.
You should not think about such things because there is little you can do to control it if it were to occur. What we all can do is enjoy the time we have to live to it's best potential, be that a day, or a hundred years. Just, live. :)

It is about time for some lunatic to destroy us all. A suicide bomber doesn't care if he dies in the catastrophe and there is a bunch of them. They even have the nightmare scenario of it on TV. Jericho where a nuclear disaster happens to the USA.
Showing them how to build nuclear bombs in the back of trucks which they plant in every major city across the country.
They have done everything for the terriorists except build the bomb.
