Is the left-wing motivation too much for you guys?

Kapute, you are in effect telling me that republicans are ordinarily more whoreish since they usually make a lot more money...nice job insulting your own party.

BTW, if you look at the DJ indexes, Bush's economy is not much better than it was when Clinton left. So don't pretend it's because of the economy.
Prosperity is not widespread in this country, and it shows if you will just open your eyes.

When Bush was running on his presidential campaigns and he said troops should not be used for nation building, and that he is a uniter, not a divider, you were stupid enough to believe him and vote for the idiot.

It's basically a popularity contest at this point. And the conservatives would never be willing to accept the fact that the popularity of the party was questioned during the last election. If in fact money does talk, it's looking pretty bad for the far right at this point.

Since there are no GOP front-runners - and most Republicans that I know are skeptical about the chances of any current candidates - there is less incentive to donate to a candidate.
Most of the Democratic money is going to Hillary and Obama who have already solidified themselves as front-runners. Ultimately, though, the close break between the two, and the fact that Democrats are convinced that whomever wins the primary will win the Presidency over any Republican that is nominated, means that we can expect a lot of money to be spent by Democratic candidates in the Primary. Put another way, a lot of the money you see will be spent on Dem v. Dem messaging.
But there is also, certainly, a serious problem within the Party. The Republican Party has lost it's conservative base; Conservatives no longer think that they are the party of small government, and that will certainly depress donations to candidates (while donations to conservative organizations like Heritage and CATO are increasing dramatically).

Wrong analysis of what is going on! The liberals are desperate and are trying to get as much soft money into the campaign before the real battle. They will not be able to dump so much in after the primaries due to McCain Feingold so they are trying to beat it. Republicans are perusing a different strategy.

The Democrats think that whoever is their candidate will win the election no matter what. Therefore they are all trying harder to get the nomination. You have to remember that the money they are maing now can only be used for the primaries and not for the presidential election!

It's a long time to go before the primaries. What's the rush?
Also, since the GOP voters are much better informed about people and policy, they don't need a bunch of low-IQ ads telling them lies and innuendo about the other candidates - that's a Democrat thing.

Probably for at least two reasons. President Bush's good economy has made it possible for them to have more money to donate, and most of the Republicans have already donated their money to charitable causes instead of hoarding it for an election.

no true republican has emerged yet, just wanna be republicans, trying to hide their liberal ways, why do dems/libs need money,i thought their way of thinking was what America wants, shouldn't`t the election be in the bag just waiting for nov.08,to kick Bush out the door, should not that money be donated to the poor in the spirit of liberal teachings?
