Inverted means they're tucked inside the areola, towards your heart. Yours are obviously not inverted if they're sticking out. That's all you need to nurse. Good luck!

No, you don't sound like you have inverted nipples. Inverted nipples go inwards instead of pointing out, so I would think its quite difficult to be 'perky' if you have them.
And anyway, you can still breastfeed with inverted nipples :)

If one has always had inverted nipples - no problems - unusual not abnormal. If a nipple inverts then u need to see a medic

If they poke in they are inverted. Some people also refer to inverted nipples as poking up or outwards to the side. It sounds like you don't have inverted nipples. It also sounds like you will be able to breast feed your baby when he is born.

Inverted nipples poke in instead or protruding out. If yours are very perky they are probably not inverted.

You'd know if you had them-- they hav enothing to do with pregnancy, they're a "permanent" style of nipple that is actually concave (dips inwards) instead of sticking out.
Your'e fine. You can still nurse if you have inverted nipples, anwyays, its just a little trickier.

It is when they wont get hard for the baby and you cannot feed him or her and you must buy formula. My whole family always breastfeeds...
