This is not a question.
I have studied and used astrology for 24 years now, and I wanted to make a distinction for newcomers.

IMHO, the stuff under "daily or monthly horoscopes" in newspapers, magazines and websites is mostly junk.

BUT Astrology works. If you are willing to spend the time to get a complete astrological chart reading from a professional astrologer, based on your exact birth time, birth place and birth date, you will most likely be quite impressed with the results and if the astrologer knows his or her stuff, you will have a lot to think about and examine about your life path, your strengths, your weaknesses and your life's goals.

Thanks for reading this.

BTW, regarding the challenge below: I have my own personal experience as an astrologer for 23 years to satisfy my own beliefs and expectations. I have no desire or need to impress the "Amazing" Randi. And niether should you. All truths should be arrived at and verified in a personal way. Following Randi is no smarter than following a religion.

Hey Lucky 7... believe what you like... I began doing astrology chart readings in 1984 when I was 30 years old... and I have done close to 4o0 readings so far...

Why would that be so hard to believe?
I a few people who have been practicing astrologers even longer than me... one of them had been an editor of an astrology magazine back in the 1970s...

The world didn't start when you were born, kid...

hiya,

dont know why some peple have to be so rude with their answers, what i cant understand is if they are not interested in astrology then why do they answer questions in that section! .....must be something to do with their star sign ;-)

i don't know what it is that some people cant understand, they pick the newspaper up and read their horoscope for the day and they still think that's what its all about, ive lost count of the number of times ive told people that they are just general readings ............. what is it they don't understand !!

it wasn't until i had my chart drawn up that i realised just how accurate it can all be, i was astonished, thence came my interest in astrology

i have been challenged about it as it being a 'cold reading' so to test this with people i have drawn up an 'imaginary' charts.... that chart doesn't fit me at all !! . so maybe the real chart was just lucky ;-)

i dont spose you can make people believe what they don't want to believe in though, and i gave up trying to convince people, its draining, so i just concentrate now on the people that have an interest in it

at least you don't get abuse from them

i am still learning and have not as much experience as you have, do you draw all your charts yourself or do you use a programme,

x

What is your evidence? Have you been tested? What kind of tests? Could you supply any independent test results that support your claim that what you say is true?

Would you be willing to be tested? If so, go to the JREF website. If you can do what you claim there is a one million dollar prize for you or a charity if for some reason you can't keep it.

The person making the claim must provide the proof otherwise such a claim is invalid. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

Add on: Those who defend astrology by pointing out how accurate professional horoscopes are. Astrology “works,” it is said, but what does that mean? Basically, to say astrology works means that there are a lot of satisfied customers and one can shoehorn any event to fit a chart. It does not mean that astrology is accurate in predicting human behavior or events to a degree significantly greater than mere chance. There are many satisfied customers who believe that their horoscope accurately describes them and that their astrologer has given them good advice.

Such evidence does not prove astrology so much as it demonstrates the Forer effect, and confirmation bias. Good astrologers give good advice, but that does not validate astrology. There have been several studies that have shown that people will use selective thinking to make any chart they are given fit their preconceived notions about themselves and their charts. Many of the claims made about signs and personalities are vague and would fit many people under many different signs. Even professional astrologers, most of whom have nothing but disdain for sun sign astrology, can’t pick out a correct horoscope reading at better than a chance rate.

I totally agree with you cuz daily horoscopes are a bunch of useless info. Also I have the same thoughts about sunsign personality traits that it does have an accurate distinctive remark about an individuals personality if you do a birth chart.I fit my sunsign, rising and moon sign like a boxing glove specially made for me!
