At 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, it is 8:00 p.m. Central time.
FYI: Going from east to west, the time is one hour earlier in each succeeding time zone. There are five time zones in North America. From east to west they are Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific and Alaskan.
Arizona does not observe Daylight Savings Time, so in summer the difference between Central time and Mountain time in that state is two hours. Most of Indiana does not observe Daylight Savings. Neither does Hawaii. In summer you would make a two-hour adjustment when you are in those states, as well.

8pm. The four time zones in the US are Pacific, Mountain, Central, Eastern, in that order, so it'll be 6pm Pacific, 7pm Mountain, 8pm Central, 9pm Eastern.
