I'm 21 and stopped receiving gifts from my parents on Easter a LONG time ago, but I was wondering...are you supposed to get your significant other something on this holiday? I've known a few people to do it, but are you really supposed to??

I usually make my guy an easter basket, full of car magazines, beef jerky nuggets, a gift card to a hardware store...etc. i just put stuff in it that he likes instead of the usual candy and chocolate...he loves it!!!

You don't have to if you don't want to. That seems to be the trend nowadays. Buying gifts for every conceivable holiday. Usually just a plain greeting card will suffice. You don't have to buy lavish gifts, like an Easter basket done up with large expensive items (DVDs, CDs, etc.). You can ask him what his favorite Easter treat was as a child. This might open up a conversation between the two of you, and you can get to learn more about each other. Maybe as a surprise, buy him a bag or box of his favorite Easter treat (guys you can do the same for your girlfriends!) and enjoy it together, or if you don't care for it, let him enjoy it. Or you can make up an Easter basket with both of your favorite treats, and share it together while discussing Easter memories you have from your childhood.

I still like to make a basket for my boyfriend.
One idea is to not get a basket but get a large bucket and fill it with car washing soap and sponges and wax etc... but still put the easter grass in it so it still looks like an easter basket!

I don't think so, and i really don't think that guys expect it. The first year i was with my husband..then boyfriend.. I got him a small stuffed bunny..just something to say i think you're really sweet..but something that he wouldn't feel he'd have to keep forever! (he still has it though, lol)
