ummm when breeding bettas what makes the female ready to spawn???

because my male betta is always ready and waiting under the nest but the female is never ready. she shows veritcal stripes she seems to be fatten with eggs but she is never brave enough to swim up to the male...
so i want to know what makes her ready? is it how big the bubble nest is? or is it when the male shows how aggressive he is and the female will feel safe to breed with him?

THe female will be ready to spawn once she has been conditioned well and is in good health and ripe with eggs. She will respond to the male when she is in this condition generally speaking. In rare cases a particular female may never respond to a particular female.

You could to some extent say it's after the male shows how manly he is with the size of his nest and his ability to protect the eggs and the brood.

It's just like we people. Can't expect us to fall in love with any gals that walk pass us.

Maybe you have to try get other females. If the female are not too smaller than the male, the chances of them mating will be higher.

Good Luck to you. Cheers.

the male is probably just pissed cause the female keeps saying she's tired or has a headache.
