She is as long as he never changed it. You could speak with a lawyer and see what they say about it, but I would think if he never changed it he intended for her to have it.

if your dad signed a paper saying his ex wife is beneficiary, and it was never change, she remains beneficiary. if she offers YOU the life insurance policy, i think that would be proper. but some people are greedy.

i think you have the right to see a copy of the paper he signed... consult his attorney or the life insurance agency.

please don't get all up in arms over this. everyone needs money, and i'm sure you could use it; however, it is also the root of major problems (ESPECIALLY where death and inheritance is concerned).

i hope it works out for you, but if it doesnt, try to deal with it and move on...

i'm very sorry for your loss.

you may not be ebtitled to the life insurance but you have an entitlement to any remaining assets after that -if there was no will - house etc each state has different ways of dividing the "estate " like a son 75% aunt 25% etc. contact a lawyer who is familiar with probate and estate laws

It is his ex-wife, if your father didn't want it to be her then he should have taken care of it, so since you can list anyone to be the beneficiary, even your ex-wife
