What are the best magazines or publications to submit short stories and or articles to? I know about the online ones (like Helium), but I would like to send my work to an actual publication (like a women's mag).

Pick up the 2007 Writer's Guide from your nearest bookstore. It will list all publications, addresses, websites, content, requirements, etc. that you could ever want to find as a writer.

There are books publishewd every year calle The Writers' Marketplace that list EVERY magazine... your library probably has a copy... you can choose from there the places you want to submit to... it also tells you the best way to send it, who to address it to, etc etc etc
