I've never understood why, but my father consistently wakes up in "defensive mode."
We all learned to take a step back after jostling him, because he might well take a swing....
Years ago, when I was still at home and my arthritic little grandmother was living with us....Dad had fallen asleep on the couch while watching television. My mother was helping my grandmother to the dinner table and asked me to wake up my father for dinner. When I woke him, he grabbed a pillow and flung it hard---and scored a solid hit on his dear little mother. She was, of course, unhurt, and very forgiving, but he didn't stop apologizing until she went to bed for the night. We all laugh about it now.

Nothing too traumatic...my daughter may groan loudly because I turned the light on and pull the covers over her head. She might yell for my wife to complain, but that's about it.

just a wee while ago,my ex told me she didnt love me.didnt come as much of a surprise,but i dont think its the best thing thats happened to me when ive woken someone.

When I was dating my husband, he was majorly into Kung Fu martial arts. I came over one night and he was asleep - he woke up with a start and almost punched me!!
