Is it to late to get a lawyer... and will it make that much of a difference. I just really want to make sure i get more out of this then the other girls who were involved... not because I'm being greedy or anything.. but i wasn't aware we had left where we were (i was sleeping) and I got the worst of it all and 2 of them have a lawyer and they didn't get it that bad.

There are 2 things at play....what is the statute of limitations in your state, and if you can find an atty who will feel they can make a case and win while explaining why you waited so long to file.

I would suggest calling an atty asap, inquire about a free consulation and ask how long you have with your local statute of limitations. Most are 3 years, but you need to find out for sure. I'd say call the state, but any lawyer would know that, and wouldn't hurt to talk to a few.

I'd go in there and say you didn't pursue it sooner as you hoped your injuries would heal and even though entitled you didn't want to pursue legal action unless neccessary. If you are healed perhaps you could explain you took the time to heal and have been busy getting back to your life. Dunno....think out which is true for you but still explaining why you waited. The important thing is finding out the law in your state and making sure there is time to file. You also speak about getting more than others....do you know if they pursued it? Sadly a lot here isn't based on who is entitled to what, but who goes after it the best. I learned this the hard way in my life.

While I hate saying to call someone you don't know, I'd see if anyone you know has a personal injury lawyer they can recommend. If not or if that is taking time just call someone out of the phone book for that consultation and the key is ask how long you have. You may even get that out of the person on the phone if you ask for it.

Hope you have great success with it, just don't let anymore time go by! And talk to a few lawyers before you sign with anyone IMHO.

I'm pretty sure you missed your chance. Either way, the judge will see that you didn't care about the accident until you saw what happened with the other 2.

Probably not too late, but you only have so much time. Stop wasting time here and see a PI lawyer.
