D - and I'll explain it more fully.

There were three parts to the slave journey. First, the trip from the interior of Africa to the coast. Second, the trip across the Atlantic to the Americas. Third, after being sold, to their final destination of where they would live and work.

The second part, across the Atlantic, is the most well-documented. It is referred to as the Middle Passage.

D ... the slaves were captured in the interior of Africa and sold by Africans to Europeans ... that's the first part ... then the middle passage across the Atlantic, and finally they were then dispersed to various countries, colonies and plantations, the end journey.
