Well if you're into classics (and even if you're not...trust me, before reading this I didn't think I was), Pride & Prejudice is great! I couldn't put it down, and it had me giggling like a nerd. Even if you've seen the movie, the book is so, so good.

Try the following:
Any of the adult books by Meg Cabot
Julia Quinn - despite the historical innacuracies, she has a
lovely turn of phrase
Anything by Jennifer Crusie - quirky, screwball romantic comedies
Fiona Walker's books - especially her early stuff which is reminiscent of Jilly Cooper but younger
Jill Mansell books - although she can be a bit hit and miss, she has a wonderful writing style
Katie Fforde - she's very clearly an older woman trying to write books as a younger person, but she's got a nice way of putting things
Janet Evanovich - one of the best authors around. Not sure that you can call her books love stories, but the Stephanie Plum series are fabulous
Judith McNaught - the Regency romances are nice - incorrect, but nice
Nora Roberts - especially her stand alone books, rather than the series
Jane Austen - well, obviously!

Twilight sequence -Stephenie Meyer Sarah Dessen books are commonly romantic. Jodi Picoult has some great books that are no longer unavoidably based around romance yet incredibly some her books contain that. %. up the Moon -Anna McPartlin Sorry i will't furnish greater, yet I in many circumstances examine greater of a drama than a romance. xoxo

I liked The Notebook, by Nicholas Sparks. Also the book, Always, by Trevor Meldal-Johnsen. It is an older book, but a beautiful love story.

now I'm going to make everyone groan, but
Love Story by Erich Segal, and the sequel, Oliver's Story are real tear-jerkers.
But Wuthering Heights if you are looking for a classic.

For me much as I love Jane Austen, the only love story for me is Captain Corellis Mandolin. (The book NOT the film!) Ahh.
