Yeah! And how does that relate to Jesus rising from the dead? My fiance calls Easter the "Chocolate Bunny Resurrection Fest."

While it is true that rabbits do not lay eggs, it is lesser known fact that they are also sworn enemies! Long ago, the now extinct Eggtopians, an egg-based life form, were at war with the Rabbit-ites, and there were great losses on both sides. Long story short, the rabbit-ites ended up winning the war in the battle of the Dyed River, a battle in which many egg warriors became dyed red in blood soaked river water while crossing into the bunny homeland of New Bunny. So this is why the Easter Bunny hides eggs and gives them away to children to be devoured every year. Thinning out the egg herd prevents them from evolving into the race they once were. Thus, making Easter a Rabbit-ite led Eggtopian genocide plot.

Now, you might ask what this has to do with Jesus and the religious holiday about the Resurrection. Te leader of the rabbit army, Peter 'Mad Dog' CottonTail, and Jesus were best friends. (Hello, the apostle Peter?!?) Peter decided to coincide the celebration of their victory with the triumphant rise of Christ from the dead.

Records of these events have been suppressed by the Catholic Church, who to this day refuse to acknowledge the role of bunnies in the history of the church.

Good Question!
The Easter Bunny is a rabbit-spirit. Long ago, he was called the" Easter Hare." Hares and rabbits have frequent multiple births so they became a symbol of fertility. The custom of an Easter egg hunt began because children believed that hares laid eggs in the grass. The Romans believed that "All life comes from an egg." Christians consider eggs to be "the seed of life" and so they are symbolic of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Why we dye, or color, and decorate eggs is not certain. In ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome and Persia eggs were dyed for spring festivals. In medieval Europe, beautifully decorated eggs were given as gifts.

No rabbits dont lay eggs but you also see little chicks for decorations at eater time. But yes its all about the Easter Bunny its cute, but just make sure the kids know that they are not the one that lays the eggs-there just cute lil animals.

Have a good easter xoxo

Rabbits aren't depicted as egg laying creatures in the Easter Tradition, they're just often seen hanging around colorful eggs during this time.

Here's some more info on the Easter Bunny: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_bunny

Lots of traditions around kids are confusing:
- Deer that fly
- Fairies that pay money for teeth
- etc.

The Bunny and the Eggs have more to do with the Pegan holiday Easter replaced then with Easter. See this link for some basic info:

Eggs, like rabbits and hares, are fertility symbols of extreme antiquity; since birds lay eggs and rabbits and hares give birth (to large litters) in the early spring, these became symbols of the rising fertility of the earth at the Vernal Equinox.

As far as I know, rabbits aren't depicted as laying eggs....the old Cadbury bunny commercial used to suggest that...but....I was always told that the Easter bunny HIDES eggs for you to find...and not in his butt either.lmao

I think this year, I will sprinkle some TRIX cereal in the yard for my kids and call it Easter Bunny Poo........
Then i can sprinkle some coco puffs as well and explain to them the obvious, simple way to tell the difference between Easter Bunny Poo and regular rabbit poo...

The bunnies are purely a symbol of spring and therefore new life. Eggs are a symbol of the stone being rolled away at Jesus' tomb, AS WELL AS a symbol of new life. This is why we roll eggs at Easter (rolling stone away...etc).
BUNNIES DO NOT LAY EGGS. I'm not shouting, I just though I'd clarify this.

Hope this clears things up,
Andy :-)
