Most conservatives don't think that universal health care is bad; they are just told that it is bad and accept that as the truth because they are too afraid to actually think about it themselves. Well conservatives, I'm going to make it easy for you. Instead of just saying, "Universal Health Care is bad because liberals love welfare and they only want to tax hard working Americans" ; I'm going to break it down into words that will provoke you to, gulp, think.
Since most conservatives assume that universal health care would be a tax on "real Americans" to pay for the healthcare of lazy, poor, fellow human beings who are undeserving of the treatment mandated by Jesus Christ himself, I will assume that most conservatives know how health insurance works-since of course they all pay for it.
Simply put, people with health insurance pay into a pool of money along with their employers who pay even more money into the collective. Now, when someone with this insurance sees a doctor, has surgery, etc., it is paid for out of the collective pool of money, minus deductible and/or co-pay. Yes, this is how car insurance, renters insurance, and home owners insurance works. The whole concept of insurance is based on spreading out risk. Kind of like diversifying or hedging in your stock portfolios, got it?
Well, universal health care would work the same way. I know what you're thinking; "Mike, if its so simple, why don't we just do it, what's the fuss?" We can't just do it because so many of you think it's a bad idea. The easiest way to do it would be to adapt Medicaid (children & disabled persons) and Medicare (elderly), because they are already in place. Unfortunately whenever we talk about doing that, conservatives get terrified and start calling us communists and Canadians. We have to start somewhere folks.
Here's some food for thought: manufacturing jobs in this country are vanishing daily and service jobs (food service, sales, customer service, etc.) are fast becoming the only jobs for millions & millions of Americans. These jobs, however, rarely provide health insurance to their employees. Most of these employees would readily pay the $20 to $40 premiums that we pay for our health insurance, but it's not like McDonald's and Blue Cross are jumping at the chance to reduce their profits in order to provide insurance for a part-time burger flipper.
Since there aren't any 'Christ-Minded' insurers out there ready to sacrifice shareholder value for healthy citizens, why shouldn't the Federal Government help the States set-up insurance programs where anyone with income can pay affordable premiums for health coverage? The answer is, because conservatives don't think for themselves.
The second part of the question is very easy to answer. Conservatives like unlimited war spending because they get scared too easily. If you pay attention to how humans react in certain situations, you'll notice that scared people react without thought and without conscience. Why enter into a dialogue to try to get to the root of the conflict when you can simply give them a one-sided ultimatum, and then destroy them? Maybe Jesus would be cool with that, but I doubt it.

Liberals did no longer vote for the Iraq conflict. that's disingenuous. each and every physique who recalls, is conscious that there replaced right into a invoice to grant the president conflict powers if Saddam did no longer adjust to inspectors. The inspectors pronounced that he complied, however the Bush admin disagreed and invaded. It replaced right into a bait and turn. i replaced into disillusioned on the time that they gave the president plenty capability. a modern study additionally confirmed that a majority of Republicans are nevertheless so uninformed that they think of Sadam had something to do with 9/11.
