The obvious question is "is the drive belt tight?" If the drive belt for the alternator is loose the alternator won't charge the battery or supply enough energy to keep the car running. if the belt is slipping or loose, the alternator will check good as will the battery but the light will stay on.

If you have a voltmeter, check for the voltage at the battery with the engine running. You should have at least 14 volts if the alternator is charging. If its down closer to 12.8 V you're alternator is not charging and you're running off the battery. That means that either the belt is loose or whoever tested your alternator is wrong.

Don't try to run the car with the battery disconnected or you may fry the electronic control unit from a voltage spike.

Hope that helps

u probably just ****** your computer in your car...u should never ever do that to a computer controlled car....the older cars u could do that on and yes it would run but computer cars need lots of power and the power spikes that are caused from unhookin and hooking up a battery can fry a computer in a heartbeat! if your having probles u need to take it and and get it looked at

Take a set of jumper cables and attach one side (just the black cable parts or just the reds) and clamp one side on the transmission metal and one side on the fender. If your car stays running with neg off you have a bad main ground
