Today I had an appointment to see the Eye Dr. I showed up 15 minutes early to do the paper work and everything... 45 minutes later, I'M STILL SITTING THERE WAITING!
Why do Doctor's offices "stagger" appointments! I'm so sick of this!!! It is an appointment, and APPOINTED TIME TO BE SEEN!

You need to complain to the docs office when this happens. If you do not speak up the practice will never ever change. I am not sure why your eye doc was late but since he was real late I would have asked him if he had an emergency that made him late. Lets face it if someone comes in with a piece of glass or metal in his eye the doc is going to take care of this ASAP. Yes the receptionist should tell you if the doc is running behind but if she doesn't tell you then get up and ask how far behind the doc is so you know if you want to stay or reschedule your appointment.

I've worked in doctor's offices, and most often the cause for delay is because the people before you were late and still expected to be seen. Then there are emergencies that come in that must be dealt with, and then there are those that come in for a 15 minutes appointment and bring a list of complaints that is an hour long. Suggest if you detest waiting, you make yours the first appointment of the day.

its just the nature of the beast these days doctors over book themselves so bad. i have went for a 12 o clock appointment and have not been seen until 4:30 or 5:00 . Theres really niothing we can do about it because they know at some point in time we all have to go to a doc>

no matter what you have to say for it or against it.
i think it is just satisfying to the drs ego, to see so many people waiting for him/her to be seen.
drs book in advance to make sure that they r upto the target on their grab.
and emergency and all other stuff is plain excuse

Because that would just be way too easy. Plain and simple. Apparently, they just think it's funny.
