blankets, hats, booties, toy, etc and did what you made end of being one of your childs favorite things? or just a slightly lopsided work of love quickly tossed aside?

Made a crib quilt.

My son's took me about 2 years because I made the whole thing entirely by hand. Now, because I put so much work into it, I don't really let him use it and it's put away. I think that I am going to pull it out for him soon.

I also made a crib quilt for my daughter (after she was born). It is now part of our bed time ritual. When I tuck her in, I lay a knit blanket on her (Her favs and made by Oma) and say "this will keep you cozy" and then lay the quilt on her and say "this will keep you warm". Now she really likes it (she's 2.5 yo) and if she's acting up, I just ask her "Do you want your warm & cozy?" and she settles right down cuz she doesn't want to miss out on that.

Since then I've made a lot of the clothes for my kids (when I have time). You can check out my 360 page and my sewing album to see if you like. Currently, I'm working on their summer 2007 wardrobe. I've made 2 "fire" shirts for my son which to totally loves & thinks are SO cool and I'm in the process of making him another one.

I made him so I never made anything for him. A few people did and one of the blankets is his favorite.

I made everything for my baby blankets, sheets, crib decorations, covered a rocker, made his mobile.

His favoriet thing is a blanket that I crocheted long before his time. It wasn't meant for him, but he certainly latched onto it. It is this gaudy blanket that I put all of my leftover scrap yarn into. He calls it his boobie cause he can't say woobie...

:-)

I crocheted a green and white blanket for my son. He still has it, and he is turning 17 in a few days!

Painted art for the room. Made a lampshade with brightly colored ribbon around it too.
