'Originally', it was suppose to be a trilogy and 'originally, Raimi, Maguire, and Dunst were signed up to do at least three.
That being said, the huge success of the first 2 movies (and the assumed success of the 3rd) would make it hard for the production companies NOT do make more.
Now, whether or not they can sign Raimi, Maguire, and Dunst to new/extended contracts is another story.
I posted a ling below that says Marvel Studio has confirmed Spiderman 4, however it does not cite its reference, so take with a grain of salt.

Are You Kidding?!! As Much Of A CashCow These Spider-Mans' Movies Are? No Way Is It The Last One!! Spidey Could be recast As Spider-Man(Like In The James Bond Movies) And Toby McQ. Could Live At Some Point. Then He'll Be Replaced.

Well there is a possibility that they will or will not make any more Spider man movies, but if you think about it. It could happen just like the Batman series people thought that batman was going to stop being produced, but it didn't. They introduce other villeins into the series(Mr. Freeze, Cat women, Poison Ivy etc..) Spider Man could do the same in the future. There are many villeins to introduce in the spider man series like Morpheus, Shocker, Ryno, etc. So you never know what can happen in the future somebody might bring Spider man back if he goes away for a few years. There is also something cool that I would like to see. In the Marvel comics some characters join forces es from different sages. Like Spider man and Iron man. That would be something cool to see. Two different hero's going against two different Villeins form a different Sega.

No, The Spider-Man movies will continue. Sony has contracted for six spider-man movies, and as far as whether or not Toby, Kirsten, James, and Sam all return is irrelevant, the Spider-man of the next 6 could be a older incarnation of all of those characters. no matter how you cut it, the movies have progressed in a time period which could have happened in only 7 years at most. which makes peter in the movies only 25 at the most. look at your pictures from high school and at 30 and will be quite the different image. the series can continue if the core do not return by aging the characters a bit more on screen. allowing for a different kind of story presented then the coming of age stories in the first three films. I also believe the core characters will return but only for a film 4. the other two could take place somewhere else, where it is only a spider-man movie rather then the peter Parker/spider-man themed stories. where he is transported to a different location where he would not need to have the Parker character shown as much.

Though this I'm confident that this will be the last movie involving Sam Raimi, Tobey Macguire and Kirsten Dunst, I believe the franchise could still look foward to a healty run. There is an awesome amount of story opprotunities still available to make great films, and a lot of great villains who have yet to see the spot light. However, I do believe that the only way these new movies can be truely successful if they emulate the style of Raimi, as it is his Spider-Man that people have fallen in love with. There's also a lot of really good actors that can fit into the parts well. I'm not a big fan, but I think Jake Gyllenhal (sp?) could pull off Parker very well. I fact, I think almost did in the second one. Can anybody confirm that? I think maybe the franchise could last about three more movies until it gets old.

If the first 2 Spider Man movies are to be used as the ruler, there must be at least 2 - 3 more. The character of the Lizard must be used as well as Carnage. Now if you really want to make a blockbuster you could have Spider Man meets the X-Men. Later on there could be Spider Man and the Fantastic 4.There must be at least 3 more movies. Maybe the Peter Parker character will be changed.

I hear it is infact going to be the last Spider-man. However rumor is that they are releasing a trilogy of Venom. Personally I thats a terrific idea. Can't wait! They should base it on the separation anxiety comics, or the lethal protector, or just go with the 90's show. Either way, Venom is excellent! Also James Franco will not be the Hobgoblin. Harry Osbourne was never the Hobgoblin. He was the Green Goblin 2. In the show Jason Macendale, not Harry Osbourne. People need to get thier facts straight. They only recently made Harry the Hobgoblin in Ultimate Spider-man. Probably because people are so bent on thinking thats the way it was.

From what i've heard and read in spider-man comics and by wathcing the shows, Mary Jane dies/disappears about this time. That being said they have already killed off Doc Ock and he was a major part of her disappearance. I really don't know if it will continue but as someone said up there, if this film is a wild success than they may very well continue it. Getting the actors to continue playing the roles however may be a different stroy. However, I do believe that in a press confrence like a month ago, Tobey said that there may be a fourth spiderman and if there is hes definately signing on.

Well first off I have been watching Spiderman since i could remember, when i was a kid i watched all the cartoon episodes...Im just a big fan! with that said My answer is a definate No! There IS going to be other Parts! there has to be.
A big reason why is simply because there are SOOOO MANY more villans! I was even doubting Venom (one of the best villans)_ would even show up. But look Harry is another Goblin, Sandman, & Venom....plus theres been the Green Goblin and Doc Ock, So lets see theres, Scorpion, Rhino, CARNAGE, Lizard (which by the way is Curt Conors Peters Teacher with no right arm as they so delicately show him within the films) Cameleon, Vulture, Shocker, Kraven, Electro, HydroMan, Mysterio, Morbious (the vampire), Tombstone, Felicia Hardy hasnt even appeared (She is also the "BlackCat") and theres others but yeah I know alot about the Spidey so I know for sure there will be other movie or other movies for sure! I dont know about the cast but I mean come on look at the Harry Potters! Were rolling on Five! all same cast! whose to say they wont have the same cast! I love Spidey I got my fingers crossed for a good 5 or 6 movies! I catn wait for this one ! Tis going to be Bad ***!@
I posted a link to a picture of alot of villans of Spidey so you can see for yourself....Thats My Thought!

Growing up idolizing Spider Man and knowing that a live action movie was in the works was the best day of my life. My wife and family knew how much this was going to be for me. When I went to see the 1st movie, some jerks were playing with a lazer pointer, They would not stop. So I jumped out of my seat and yelled, "KNOCK THAT S#!+ OFF. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOVIE TO COME OUT SO DO NOT, DO NOT MESS THIS UP FOR ME!"
They stopped and everyone clapped for what I said.
For someone who was into the comics and everyone knew I was a fan, to have the spiderman movie franchise just die, its not possible. Look at the Fantasic 4, they have a 4 movie contract and a Live Action Avenger movie coming next year, comics will forever stay on the BIG SCREEN.
So Spiderman will make one last movie, but hope that it does not make a stupid mistake IE: Batman, with 4 different guys.

A spider-man 4 has been confirmed in an interview given by MTV to Marvel Studios Producer Kevin Feige. So it seems like the 3rd will not be last. Now whether or not the main actors will continue is unsure. Maquire has been quoted by USA Today as saying "But, it's hard to imagine continuously coming up with stories that deserve to be told. I'm not sure if there are more stories for this character that are interesting enough to be excited about doing more." So who really knows???
