Is this stuff an ideal staple food for pike fish? I have Xingu I (orange) pike.

I'm still trying to find a prepared food they like that is also good for them. They seem to love this stuff. It smells like krill to me. Its kinda pricey & seems like more of a treat than a staple. The only other thing I found they will eat that isn't alive & kicking is frozen silversides.

Will they do allright if I feed them this stuff every day?

I have tried the following frozen foods.

Mysis Shrimp
Oysters
Clams
Blood Worms
Brine Shrimp
Beef Heart.
Silver Sides

They will eat a few bloodworms and silversides if they're starving.

Picky eaters those guys. In my opinion your lucky to find any nonliving food thaey will eat well. No doubt it's a good food and most certainly a great addition to their diet.

yes, pellet food is a good staple, I`ve used it before. Give them the frozen food as treats, or they will start to only eat the expensive frozen food. It`s good to have variety, I`m sure they would love some feeder goldfish or guppies too.

It'll work. I always try to vary the diet of my fish, but yours seem very picky. You might try a food called Cichlid Diet. It's made by either San Fransisco Bay or Hikari. It's a frozen mainly protein diet, but it does have some veggies too. You might also try Hikari's Frozen Mega Tropical. My cichlids go nuts for it and it has a healthy ratio of proteins and veggies.

Might I recommend HBH Super Soft pellets. They are also sinking pellets that can be easily broken up to feed smaller fish as well. I have HBH SS w/Krill, and w/Spirulina.

Variety is the key. If you can get them on a couple of different sinking pellets, he will get a wider spectrum of good foods.

as quickly as we've been elevating and breeding Oscars we tried the Hikari cichlid pellets. for my section they weren't as sturdy by using fact the Tetra type. The Hikari pellets looked as though it might "grimy" the aquarium water greater and speedier than Tetra did.

thats a great product as the secondary food, as long as you are giving him/her a live diet as well it should be fine. they relish guppies and comets, and if you dont like feeding them live food give them as much of the frozen food they will eat!
