a spring time chest cold?

At the moment I have just been about a month since I got over my last sickness and am drawing a blank as to some of the things I did. I did so many different things over the course of two sicknesses, that they have just kind of all blended together in my head.

A couple of hints though...I take garlic pills all the time and raw garlic as much as possible. (Keeps the vampires away!) No really though, I chop it up as fine as possible and hurry up and swallow it and try to avoid much of it touching my tongue. It really helps your immunity. (not to mention cholesterol level). Keep in mind though, it is also a blood thinner, so don't forget about that if you cut yourself or something.

Also, when I had my last cold, I would cough a lot when I laid down to go to bed, making it next to impossible to sleep. I finally started making myself a hot toddy right before bed and this helped tremendously. Now, I am not a big fan of alcoholic beverages, but in this case, I figured being medicinal and all, it was really no different than taking drugs for it. I can't find the specific recipe I was using, but you can just look it up online -- basically, it is honey and lemon and hot water with whiskey. I used vodka the first night because that was all I had on hand, it worked really well, but it was AWFUL!!!

My friend also tried to get me to do this and I see the good of it, I was just not able to do it without choking myself. She said to take a handful of saltwater and plug one side of your nose and sniff it up the other side, then spit it out (you know your nose connects directly with your throat and mouth, right?) Then do it again on the other side. This helps to kill whatever bad bacteria are in your nasal area. If you can do it, I really think it is a good thing.

Last but not least, if you are suffering from allergies (which is often confused with having a cold) you should try taking a tablespoon of LOCAL honey each day. Just eat it right out of the spoon. It is crucial that it be local though, because it will have the pollens in it that are causing you allergies and will help you to build an immunity to them. Every time I move to a new area, I have to do this because I get so "sick", but after a few days I just realize it is only allergies, get me some local honey and within a day or two I am improving and within a week, it is gone! Nature's wonder drug!

Well, I hope this helps. Get feeling better, okay?

Hmmm, massage your chest by your shoulder on the left side (no your left :) ), it should be tender, this helps things flow. Then get plenty of rest, fluids, no fast food, fruits and veggies. If you can there are a few good chiropractors out there that may help a bit. Watch something funny, laugh and smile. Chicken soup may or may not help but do it anyway.

Hot Lemonade (use REAL lemons) cut them in half, sqeeze the juice in a pan with water, put the lemons in with the juice and water and add honey. It tastes awful but sure breaks up the congestion
