I think not! On a societal level, the iranians are cntemptuous of the Arabs to the East and the "savage South Asians" to the West -- I am not making this up, I'm quoting several TV interviews of people on the streets of Tehran.
On a political level, Iran wants more than anything else to be taken seriously as a regional superpower -- and really, who can blame them! They have a huge population, a rich historical culture and freedom of expression that far surpasses the region. Their involvement in political developments in the Middle East is really just a reflection of their wanting to be more involved. By any and all accounts, they ought to have an important role in regional decisionmaking....
Except for the fact that they actively and publicly support terrorism, defy the international community and try to undermine the status quo! Point is, the current regime notwithstanding, Iran is an extremely significant country with much to contribute to the international order.

I honestly don't know what to think about the Iranian leader. He acts like he wants to help his people, but he spent so long letting the whole matter get out of his control that he honestly strikes me as a hyporcrite caught in a lie.

That was their first move with every breathe we take in planet of apes.
Congratulation to them for their creation of peace on earth goodwill to men for the good of mankind in planet of apes.
They are still a long way from home.
But something else they overlook is being created in their own backyards in planet of apes.
They had wasted 20 over years in creating the mess in their own backyards without even aware of it in planet of apes.
That will be our next move.

Thank you for that peaceful sentiment. I have been wondering what the regular Iranians are thinking. Peace to you, too, brother! I hope everything works out O.K. I truly do.

If you call venturing nearly 2 miles outside your waters to abduct British sailors, take them back to your country and falsely accuse them of the very thing you just did as kind and helpful.
