This president seems to think that the congress is playing politics when it comes to ending a war that is unpopular. He seems to be very angry now that he no longer has control of both houses of congress. Why does Bush think he is King of the United States and does it have anything to do with the cheating in Florida during the 2000 election?

Dude! You think King Shrub is doing all that on his own? He is NOT smarter than a fifth grader! He is a puppet. They tell him to jump, and he asks, "How high?" on the way up! In return, they tell him he has power! He is king! He is...forget it, I'm making myself sick! Look up the history of the banking industry. You'll see why Pres. Kennedy got shot when he said he was going to put a stop to their fraud. Read all you can about the Illuminati, the Bildeburgers, The Rothchilds, etc.
It's all there in black and white. Yes, to cheating in Florida, and Ohio and ...
Oh, and I am NOT a liberal or a left-wing-nut...I wouldn't have voted for Kerry either, if someone had paid me to do it! This is NOT a two party nation. Anyone who actually went to the polls would have seen at least a dozen candidates running for president. Some, way more qualified than either Bush or Kerry, but not one of them was invited to the debates, and for very good reason...if they had been allowed to voice their views and opinions, THEY might have won.

First of all "behave like" and "be" are different things. Bush is the President of the USA because in accordance with the 2-nd article of the Constitution of 1787 we do have a republic here with a President in whose office the executive power is vested. Checks 'n' balances system let us no doubt that President is not able to control the Legislative branch - Congress(article 1). And if you have ever analyzed the Constitution of the USA (17-th of September 1787) the powers of the President are named and limited you will never face a "discretion" statement there but still President must cooperate with Congress if not the crisis may arise. We want no more kings here in America because we already had one once - British emperor. But as the Declaration truly stated that absolute monarchy leads to tyranny and People must have a right to throw off such government and establish a new one as Founding Fathers did. So Bush is a President of the USA so far.

Well first it was because of his "legacy" mentality that The Bush family was meant to be President, which was enforced by his "win" in Florida after many problems only with the votes for Gore and his brother being the Governor. Then he had his own party in Congress who did whatever he wanted. Third, he got the popular vote and electoral votes in the 2nd election which on his last term told him he was infallible and invincible.

kapute> OK i see your point but at this time American troops are dying so that they can be policemen for Iraq...nothing more. If terrorists could get here they would be here attacking, so why not bring the troops home so they don't die and make it LESS likely that the terrorists will get in here to attack? Iraq will NEVER be a true ally and the middle east will NEVER stop this crap while we stick our noses into their business telling them how to run their countries...this is fact because American people would be doing, and have done, the same thing if another country dictated to us how to life.

Mike b> the war was over a long time ago. this is an Occupation and yes he can veto..but Congress can override his veto, cut funding and just keep at it till he cannot veto anymore. Keeping there indefinitley is the retarded course of action

most people in the us, even the so called "liberals" truly know very little about what happened in 2000. meat for the 'you are a conspiracy theorist" crowd. they had eight years for planning while their lap dog bill clinton was in office pretending to liberalism (no liberal he).

if you are truly knowledgeable about gb senior you know the most outlandish conspiracy theory is not too much for this group. hell they got georges leading private contributor crowned "king of peace" IN CONGRESS!! of course i mean mr sun myung moon.

actually i rather see the bushlette as a wannabe dictator. remember that quote? it's ok if this is a dictatorship... as long as i'm dictator. some people actually thought that was funny. i did not. follow the bush trail.

The constitution does not give the congress the ability to "undeclare" war. The only option they have is to defund it. The president, as "Commander-in-chief", has the only warfighting authority once war is declared.

So the democrats in congress need to either defund the war (and face the consequences in the next election) or shut-up.

Wars are not waged by popular vote. That is why we elect a President. The vote in Florida was the most scrutinized in the history of this country, if there were any flagrant cheating it would have come out. Baseless accusations made by disgruntled left wing nuts does not constitute proof of cheating by the winning party. Why don't you go hang out with the Code Pink dingdongs.

Bush is drinking again. Laura isn't even staying in the White House these days. He is delusional, and Laura knows it. While Bush boozes it up, the world cries.

Really? I didn't see that in his last press conference where he flat out stated that the Congress was implementing their Constitutional Rights and if they were bent on making a political statement with this bill it was fine with him as long as they did it rapidly!!! He didn't cheat in Florida, he got more votes even when they counted after the fact. Get over it.

I think he is just frustrated. For the last six years, he actually had some influence in Congress, now he is a lame duck waiting to retire in 2009. The media seems more interested in talking about his replacement than about him.

Wake up and stop drinking the kool-ade. No one stole the election if there was any real proof the anti Bush media would exploit it. He is acting in what he thinks the best interest of the country is that is all. You can disagree and that is ok. I am so tired of all the name calling it doesn't lead to any solutions. Politics to seem like we are in 3rd grade?
