Because the concept was titled over 100 years ago when the Unites States was the only country in the world which played baseball and there were two distinct leagues (the National League and the American League). Hence, the team that won was the World Champion of baseball.

The reason why the name hasn't changed is because it's become well-established in the collective psyche of international sports.

The explanation is that when the term "World's Championship Series" was first used in the 1880s, baseball was almost exclusively confined to North America, especially the United States, at a high level. Thus it was understood that the winner of the major league championship was the best baseball team in the world. The title of this event was soon shortened to "World's Series" and later to "World Series.

get how they changed "world's" to world to reflect that point?

Because the US was the first country to have organized baseball. So they called it the World Series because it showcased the best players in the world.

It's been called the World Series since 1903 and it just stuck.
