Hey there,

I`m from Europe, currently living in Tokyo for learning Japanese (I went there after finishing German gymnasium). Now I have to decide what to study and I`m really interested in studying abroad."Public Realtions" interests me a lot but in my country we have like 2 schools that are offering PR and they`re brand new so you can imagine that a lot of people wanna go there.Today I have some questions about studying PR in the US..

First of all I wanted to know if there is an opportunity to "combine" "PR" with marketing, a little bit of visual design/graphic design (if it`s not allready included), eventually copywriting and foreign languages. As I said I learn Japanese and I`d really love to continue that and also learn other languages. Can I do that in the US or is there any school or university which offers something like "International PR"?

And how long do I have to prepare for studying in the US (when does school start?)

Thanks a lot. I`m grateful for any help!!

There are over 4000 colleges in the USA, and many ofthem have programs of studies which lead to degrees in business, international business, marketing and various aspects of public relations.

It is not complicated to become an international student at an American university. There are over 500,000 international students each year in the US. Although the eight Ivy League schools and a few other elite schools such as Duke, Stanford, MIT, UChicago are difficulty to get into, there are hundreds of good schools where admittance is not very difficult.

Use the princetonreview.com or collegeboard.com websites to locate schools with business specialties in public relations or advertising, and then look at the individual website of the schools to get more infor. Once you have a few schools located, you can contact their admissions departments directily to find out about how to apply and get the appropriate visas, etc.
