When 'What Hi-Fi' magazine reviewed the Kef Q35's, they said, "Excellent detail and dynamics and awesome bass power, these are stunning speakers".

It is possible you have mis-connected a cable somewhere - check that all the -ve and +ve leads are connected correctly.

If the speakers are supplied with spikes, use them. Placing a marble or granite slab (or even a paving slab) under the speakers will give them a solid base to stand on. Both of these suggestions will help to firm up the bass.

It may be your amplifier or source - some amps and CD players just don't work well with certain speakers. Try to borrow another amp and source and see if that makes a difference.

And despite what has been said, cable DO make a difference. Some hi-fi shops will let you take a selection home to try, if you leave a deposit. If sound quality matters, you will notice the improvement...

these spearker are great, when you can afford it, buy you self a sub, go to ebay and buy a good used sub, or you can go to Audiogon.com, it is like a ebay for auido lover

but so far you made a good pick

and if anyone says get better cables, it is not going to make enouph of a differnce over you OK cables, but crap is crap

good luck with them you should have many years of useage

cheap solution, turn up the base on the Rec. or put on the loadness button,
