First, the deeper academic experience you get in the I.B. program (compared to a regular high school program) may give you an advantage in college, whichever one you decide to attend.

Second, the I.B. program may give you an advantage when applying to either a competitive U.S. university, or to a university outside the United States.

In some countries the high school program is longer than it is in the U.S., and students graduate with the equivalent of the first year of college. If you are applying to a university in one of those countries and you have a regular U.S. high school diploma, then you could be at a disadvantage. Having an I.B. diploma might help compensate for that disadvantage.

My school also had IB classes also. I did not take IB classes but some of my friends did. They didn't have as much free time then other people. They have alot more work then regular classes but I think IB is worth all the hard work because you could get more scholarships if you graduate with your IB diploma and it will prepare you for college.
