I have always been on time with my periods and now all of the sudden I am having periods every two weeks What could be causing this? I am 37! My paps are all normal....

bleeding between periods is almost always caused by a change in hormone balance, and at your age, it is most certainly perimenopausal. Your doctor can prescribe low dose hormones to regulate this and ease your passage into menopause, but if you smoke, you will have to quit...as a rule doctors do not give hormone therapy to smokers...the risk of blood clotting is too great.

Bleeding between periods is something that needs to be checked out but it could very well be that you are entering peri-menopause already. See your doc for a definate diagnosis. Also just because your paps were always normal doesn't mean something couldn't have changed since you last one. See your doc though.

I would go see your doctor. Are you on the pill or any other form of birth control? That can easily cause spotting. Are you under a lot of stress lately? Is your diet drastically different/your exercising heavily? The only way to know for sure is to see you doc.
