Let's see, I can't seem to think of any right now that would fit from a mother to son, but there are other suggestions. A nice song like, "You Are the Sunshine of my Life" by Stevie Wonder could work nicely in the background.

Also, I think a cute Motown song by a female group would work well because they are mostly upbeat, kinda innocent and use the word "baby" like a dozen times : ) I'll try to think of some specific ones and post again.

Oh, and I don't know how you feel about this, but, Michael Jackson's song "You Are My Life," is specifically for a parent to child, and not made specifically for a girl. Again, don't know how you might feel about that, but the song is pretty.

Elton John did a lovely song called Blessed

Elton John - Blessed Lyrics

Hey you, you're a child in my head
You haven't walked yet
Your first words have yet to be said
But I swear you'll be blessed

I know you're still just a dream
your eyes might be green
Or the bluest that I've ever seen
Anyway you'll be blessed

And you, you'll be blessed
You'll have the best
I promise you that
I'll pick a star from the sky
Pull your name from a hat
I promise you that, promise you that, promise you that
You'll be blessed

I need you before I'm too old
To have and to hold
To walk with you and watch you grow
And know that you're blessed

Well, the one I did is Stand By Me by Ben E. King. My son is 8 and still loves that song. I sang it to him while I was pregnant daily. Might sound weird, but it really is our song. But I did a video for his 1st birthday and used Rod Stewarts "Forever Young" in the back ground.

Danny's Song is GREAT for this! The most popular version was performed by Kenny Loggins. It was also done by Anne Murray and Glen Campbell.

Lyrics:

People smile and tell me I'm the lucky one, and we've just begun,
Think I'm gonna have a son.
He will be like she and me, as free as a dove, conceived in love,
Sun is gonna shine above.

Chorus:
And even though we ain't got money, I'm so in love with ya honey,
And everything will bring a chain of love.
And in the morning when I rise, you bring a tear of joy to my eyes,
And tell me everything is gonna be alright.

Seems as though a month ago I was beta chi, never got high,
Oh, I was a sorry guy.
And now I smile and face a girl that shares my name,
Now I'm through with the game, this boy will never be the same.

(To chorus:)
Pisces, Virgo rising is a very good sign, strong and kind,
And the little boy is mine.
Now I see a family where there once was none, now we've just begun,
Yeah, we're gonna fly to the sun.

(To chorus:)

Love the girl who holds the world in a paper cup, drink it up,
Love her and she'll bring you luck.
And if you find she helps your mind, buddy, take her home,
Don't you live alone, try to earn what lovers own.

Thanks for my child by Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley
Very beautiful song.

"Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, or the cover version by Shinedown.

Well, Momma told me
When I was young
Sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say
And ff you do this, it'll help you some sunny day

Oh, take your time
Don't live too fast
Troubles will come
And they will pass
You'll find a woman, oh baby
And you'll find love
And don't forget that there is someone up above

And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby, be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can

Forget your lust
For rich man's gold
All that you need now
Is in your soul
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied

And be a simple kind of man
Be something you love and understand
Baby, be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand

Oh, don't you worry
You'll find yourself
Follow your heart
And nothing else
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you my son, is to be satisfied

And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby, be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can
Baby, be a simple kind of man
Be a simple man
Oh, be something you love and understand

Theres a lot of country ones

Let them Be Little - forget who sings it
GodSpeed - Dixie Chicks, and Lullaby by them too

Then theres that one called something like - Be Just Like You, where the little boy spills his mcdonalds then swears like his dad, then later prays like his dad
