Would this be helpful. Or, would we just end up electing better liars?

All politicians are not going to be able to follow through on all of their campaign speeches due to the system of checks and balances that we have in place within the US gov't. There are also issues like budgets or shifting issues/crisises when a politician is elected. These people are fallible just like you and me.

What do you need a lie detector for? I can tell when someone is lying just by looking at them.
Politicians, for the most part, lie constantly.

Lie detectors only use physical response, so those with no conscience pass them. I'd prefer politicians who have emotions be elected.

There is some new technology that analyzes the stress in speech.
They would need to turn the warning buzzers off If you wanted to hear what the politician was saying.

Lie detectors can be passed even when lying. Politicians have not told the truth for so long that they are immune.

That would be fantastic but I'm sure it would costly because when Bush & Cheney give a speech the lie detector would burst in flames.

we would desire to continually be hooking up all the politicians and wannabe's up earlier we solid our votes! have not we found out a lesson from the final election yet??? No, But would be helpful if its done after their term is finished. That way you would now if their political term was spotless.
