alot of people don't know this but there are 2 great ways to clean any jelwery weather it be diamonds or just gold windex spayit on scrub with toothbrush and then rinse it off don't leave it on to long the chemicals can make gold weak
boil water and dish/laundry soap whatever you choose the hot water will help bring the dirt out after about 3 minutes boiling take out the jelwery rinse and watch it shine.

You don't want to use fingernail polish since acetone can rot or soften the metal. I would go to Target or Wal Mart and ask them what's recommended to clean diamond rings and baguettes. You want to use a gentle cleaner for your jewelry.

My friend is a jeweler and GIA certified, he has an ultrasonic machine and uses warm water and Palmolive. Never the alcohol/ammonia based cleaner as is does eat away at the gold. So I say warm water and Palmolive should clean away the dullness. If it is caked on, you may want to use a toothbrush to get under the setting.

I've tried all the conventional things to clean my jewelry. Toothpaste..... dish soap...... alcohol..... etc. But the absolutely BEST has been Woolite. I just dilute about 50/50 and put my jewelry in to soak... even just a few hours. The grime and skin oils just seem to melt off.

I soak my jewellery in straight washing up liquid for a couple of hours. rinse in warm water then dry off. Diamonds really sparkle also gold chains etc. Cheap and easy.

efferdent (I think that is how you spell it) denture cleaner works great. Just follow the direction to dilute the tablet, warm water is best, and drop in ANY Jewelry, leave for an hour and rinse. Clean everytime!
