1. Don't look anyone in the eye. Look just above the heads of the people in the last row. It's illusionary eye contact.

2. Plant your feet and your hands. DON'T FIDGET!

3. Speak sloooooowly. If you think you're speaking slowly, speak twice as slow. That will reduce the chances that you'll "um" and "uh" and make you sound more confident.

4. Practice in front of your friends and ask them for honest feedback on your nervous tics then work on those! Good luck!

Preparation. Have your material fully prepared. Then, passion; be passionate about what you are speaking about. Present the material as if their lives depended on it. Dress well; it will help bolster confidence in yourself and engender respect from your hearers. If you have trouble looking them in the eye, look just slightly above their heads. One trick that I have used in the past is to buy a pair of cheap reading glasses so that your text will be clearer but when you look up, faces are blurred and there will be the perception of real eye contact. That said, making eye contact with everyone there is important. Good luck.

1. KNOW YOUR SUBJECT AND WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY
2. Concentrate on the message you want to get across
3. Speak measuredly and try not to speak too fast
4. Pick out maybe 5 people in different parts of the audience and look at the tops of their heads as you speak. Everyone will think you are looking at them

Nerves are natural, live with it.... Good Luck

What I have found that works for me is to PRACTICE your speech and know it forwards and backwards. By committing to memory your speech you will feel comfortable in giving your speech and this will reflect on how your speech is presented. I hope this helps.
