Ive been a dedicated watcher since season one and it seems like every year has gotten worse and worse. This year takes the cake. Come on, no matter what excuses there are for Sanjaya staying, I dont believe it. Then Gina gets "voted off" before Haley? Give me a break!
I think they show is rigged. The creators of American Idol are controlling who stays and who goes, just for the shock factor, they think it will add more excitement to the show. Afterall, they tell us how many people voted and who got the least amount of votes but how do we really know for sure? We just take their word for it. I dont believe it. Im totally turning against the show now and probably wont even watch it anymore. Who else agrees? What do you think is really going on?

It's beginning to feel that way. I have watched AI since Season 2. I have always enjoyed it for the pure entertainment value. My skepticism started last year when Chris Daughtry was voted off, and Taylor Hicks won. Now really, who was more talented?
Gina Glocksen has a wonderful voice, and she was a good entertainer. Sanjaya has become a joke, and an embarrassment to AI and it's viewers. The point of the show is to find marketable solid entertainers. You'd have to pay ME to go see Sanjaya, and it would have to be alot!
I don't know the solution to this problem. I suppose we will have to take a wait and see attitude and hopefully Fox and AI will address the issue. What is unfortunate is that those who dislike the show are making their presence known. Why can't they just watch something else and leave well enough alone.
Thanks for the vent...I've been fuming since last night.

I totally agree.... I have been a devoted watcher and VOTER since the show began... I was right there glued to the TV each and every week... phone in hand waiting to vote for the BEST singer... I cried with Kelly.... I cheered with Carrie... and danced around with Taylor...and for the most part in the beginning America got it right... but this year... total disappointment week after agonizing week... I just cant bear to watch anymore... I haven't watched the result show for weeks... (since they let sundance go) I just think it is a bunch TV politics and I refuse to continue to be a part of it... let them sink the show by letting these NO talents go through... there is someone waiting in the wings to produce a bigger better version of the show...
Maybe all of the viewer disappointment will lead to a change in the voting system... that is obviously flawed!

I never thought it was rigged.. until last night. I refuse to watch it again. The creators should be ashamed of themselves. Sanjaya shoud get a set of balls and excuse himself and tell them to bring Gina back. How proud he must be to know hes winning becuse he sucks.
I know, I know.. ppl say that Sanjaya is great ( yuck)... if he were that great then why the vote for the worst website for him?? hmmmm....

This is the worst season ever. I can't believe Sanjaya is still on the show. What is going on with America? After Carrie Underwood its going down hill? I am ready for So You think you can dance to come back on that is my favorite.

Haley - her skirts are getting shorter and Sanjui is getting a bigger head. So I agree it is all staged. I have also watched since 1st season. Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood are the only two great singers to come from there.

I think the William Hung thing was staged or setup - though not necessarily by AI. William knew he was a bad singer - spare me the arguments, and he was also VERY quick with the positive one liners to the judges-like he memorized them. That very same week there was a professional looking William Hung board. Looks fishy to me.

oh heck ya, it's rigged.....that is the only way that Haley, Phil and SANJYA is still on that show........that pre-pubescent, wacky haired,tone deaf,future wedding singer SUCKS and the only reason he is still there is because too many 10-13yr old girls have access to a phone. America needs to ground their daughters (and gay boys) from the phone until the show is over for the season. If Sanjya wins, I am over it and done with the show. HE SUCKS!!

It is more than a joke. Go to their website and read the small print about how they do the voting. They can get any outcome they want. It is bogus.

I agree. I may try to struggle through this season but I doubt I'll be back next season!
